Trial versions

FAIRY Trial version may be downloaded and installed by following the links below. The installers are safe, include an uninstaller, are straightforward to use, take less than 15 minutes to complete, and contain instructions. Please see the release notes and setup help below for more details.

Versions 3.0 for Windows 98, Me, NT, 2k and Xp (updated on 8/15/2002)
FAIRY, for IIS/PWS 3.0 or later.
FAIRY, for Apache 1.3.14 or later.
Versions 3.0 for Macintosh, Linux and Solaris (updated on 8/15/2002)
FAIRY, for Apache 1.3 on sparc Sun Solaris 8.0.
FAIRY, for Apache 1.3 on x86 Sun Solaris 8.0.
FAIRY, for Apache 1.3 on ppc Mac OS X 10.1.5.
FAIRY, for Apache 1.3 on x86 Linux (RedHat, Debian, Slackware, etc).

Installation:To install FAIRY on Windows, simply run the installer by double clicking on it. This is a network installer, so you need to stay connected to the Internet to complete the installations. To install FAIRY on Unix (e.g. OS X, Solaris or Linux), do this:
1) Log on as root: su -
2) Unpack the installer: gunzip fairy_3_0_trial_SunOS5.8_i386.sh.gz
3) Run the installer: /bin/sh fairy_3_0_trial_SunOS5.8_i386.sh

OS X Notes: StuffItExpander will expand our installer by default on OS X, creating a sub-folder called fairy_unix, where you will find files like Install.sh. Do not use this folder. StuffItExpander does not (and should not) expand the installer archive. All you need to do on OS X is to download the installer file as a single file, and follow the exact instructions listed above. There are no extra or missing steps involved in installing FAIRY on OS X, compared to other Unix platforms.

Limitations: The Trial version will expire after 30 days, and can only be used from your own network. The trial version will not service browsers in external networks, so you can not use the trial version on a public web server.

You may configure both versions of FAIRY to operate on a virtual site. Also, you may download and install a web server free of charge from the Apache group. PWS/IIS is included in all current versions of Windows. Apache is included in most Unix brands.
